Sometimes I’d like to re-arrange everything in my life into rainbow order.

Chris Cobb, the artist behind this masterpiece involving 20,000 color-coordinated books says,

“So I wanted to do this project, where I have a giant bookstore full of books, and instead of them all being organized normally, they’ll all be organized in rows of color. Through some kind of herculean task, some kind of massive effort, to change the entire space into something that you would see in a dream.” (full interview)

This installation, titled “There Is Nothing Wrong in This Whole Wide World” happened in 2004, at Adobe Bookshop in San Francisco, and lasted for only 10 days.  I can’t even imagine seeing this in real life.  Dreamy, for sure.
