More postcards from the WAFA collaboration! Anthony Zinonos sent these to me. It was a thrill to find his artwork in my mailbox, and to be honest, I was a little nervous to work on top of his art. But, I like the results and I’m looking forward to more.
In each pair the first is Anthony’s work the way I received it, and the second is my collaboration.

Check out the postcards that I sent to Anthony here.

I did my first ever telephone interview– it was with Stephanie Fereiro for the Under My Bed blog. I had a fun time talking with her I think the interview turned out nice, even though I was kind of nervous.
I think phone interviews are a little more revealing. I talk about my most embarrassing item of clothing, my unforgivable habit of cutting up children’s books, and my day job—at the plumbing office. Read, read on…

Here’s a look at some new work for the new show at Nemo Design in Portland. It opens tonight!
This is my first ever show on the west coast. I sent 7 brand new pieces, all for sale, and affordable! If you’re in the Portland area tonight, check it out. The show is based on the idea of superstition, and there’s going to be lots of good stuff for your eyes to enjoy. PLUS, I hear they throw good parties. Full details below.

Superstition: Art that Stands in Awe
PORTLAND, OR — NEMO presents Superstition: Art that Stands in Awe, a mixed-media exhibit, curated by NEMO, opening Friday, June 5, 2009, 6-10pm. The show will run through Monday, June 22, 2009 at NEMO: 1875 SE Belmont Street in Portland, OR. The opening reception will include special musical guests.
Superstition highlights the work of illustration, print, drawing, painting, and mixed media artists. The theme of the show is superstition, the excessive belief in magical and fantastical ideas. The work presented will demonstrate the ways in which art can foster a world of beliefs full of color and escape from the depression that exists in reality.

YeeHaw!!—I’ve been accepted to the WAFA Collective.
I found out about their group a few months ago and was totally enamored. I admired and lurked from afar
Their artists, projects, and philosophy are so great that I finally asked to be considered for their crew. I’ve never taken the step to collaborate with other artists, and I’m excited about the challenge.
Visit the WAFA site and check out their diverse group of visual artists, musicians, & filmmakers.
We’re working on some new collaborations, here’s a sneak peak of my first contribution:
